DIY: Embellished Plaques

You might have seen my holiday wreath yesterday. Today I'm going to show the steps of making these sturdy little collaged plaques. Keep reading for the steps!

I keep my cardboard food boxes handy for these sorts of projects. You can make two nice-sized plaques (I don't know what else to call them - any suggestions?) out of one side of a cereal box. I free handed one side of this shape, folded it in the middle and traced the other side to match. You can see my middle line in one of the photos - that's where I folded to get even sides. Then I adhere paper to the cardboard, trace and cut out. That stuff is the not-so-fun part. Now you get to embellish, the best part!
I recently made an oversized card for my sister using this same technique! Do you hang on to your cereal boxes? If so, what do you use them for?

Oh cute idea. I'm going to save my cereal boxes now. So much potential haha!
