DIY: Holiday Wreath

I finally got around to fixing up my holiday wreath. I did it the same way I did my Halloween wreath. Today I'm going to show you how I made the wreath base and tomorrow we'll do the plaque in the middle. Read on for the wreath instructions.

Supplies: wire wreath form from a craft store, fabric, yarn, paper embellishments. I love these wire wreath forms because they are inexpensive and a totally blank slate. I just wrapped strips of fabric around the form (about 7.5 feet in total length so a 1/4 of a standard fabric yard will be plenty). I secure my fabric with yarn.

Sorry the photos of the steps are a bit washed out. I had my camera on the wrong setting. The fabric is a deep teal, like you see in the finished product photos.
Looking at these photos makes me wish I used more yarn. I like the aesthetics of the wreath in fourths, with two of those sections covered in yarn. I just need to cover a bit more of the wreath with yarn.

This is so cute! I have never seen the wire forms. I used one of those huge wicker ones and glued on some felt rosettes that I made. I love it :) I just need a lighter colored door so it shows up!

It is so pretty! I love the non-traditional holiday color choices. I'm noticing that you seem to have a small obsession with pinwheels. ;)

This is so lovely. I really appreciate the non-traditional holiday colors. It can be used all winter!
