DIY: Faux Taxidermy Ornaments

I know faux taxidermy (aka 'plush taxidermy') is probably too overdone. But I still love it, so stay with me, k? These ornaments are very easy to make and super cute. I think they would make great gift tags, too!

Also, if you are one of those people that has to wait until Thanksgiving is done to start Christmas, I apologize for starting early. But I'm in the Christmas mood already!
I got these adorable animals (a moose and a polar bear) at Ikea for $.49. Um, yeah. How much cheaper could this project be?!
Warning: please look away if you have a sensitive heart. Disturbing images to follow.
Your first step is to choose a paper that coordinates with your animal or your decor. Cut out/punch out a circle (or any shape you want). Next you will have to cut off the animal's head. If you are wondering, it's a little sad. But the end result is too cute to be sad for long. I used hot glue to adhere my head to the paper circle. I then hot glued a piece of string to the back to use as a hanger. I covered the string up with another piece of paper. I thought this would also make it a bit sturdier.
And you are done! So easy, right?

So adorable! I want to make one, but I'm not sure if I could actually do the head-chopping (I'm serious).

These are adorable! My family has a lot of hunters in it, so it would be cool to do this with deear, elk, etc.

This is wonderful...I finally has something to do with all my son's little stuffies that he has tossed to the side and forgotten :)
