Currently Crafting: Smash Card

I have to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas so we are going home to visit for New Year's. I thought I would send my family something small to open on Christmas Day (until I bring their presents later). I made this collaged card kind of in the 'smash' style. I think I might make one for each family member and write a note on the back.
Supplies I used: cereal box for the base, a doily, a shipping tag, Crate Paper & We R Memory Keepers paper, a Crate Paper chipboard sticker (which I love!), a journaling stamp, handmade pinwheel, Tim Holtz green distressed ink pad and a Fiskars heart punch.

It is really sturdy since the base is cardboard. I thought about tying on yarn for a hanger, so it could be hung up. But that seems a little weird, like I want them to display the card. So I think I'll just stick with the card.

I'm really loving quick and easy projects in the 'Smash' style (and I just ordered a Smash book to try!). Have you done in smash projects?

So sweet that you're giving your family something to open on Christmas even though you can't be there. The cards are so thoughtful.

I'm excited that my husband will be home to celebrate this year. The past few years he had to work on Christmas too.

You will love having a Smash book. You can put anything you want inside it. There is also plenty of stickers and papers that coordinate with the book. I use mine for ticket stubs and little doodles that my daughter does for me.
